![]() Any suggestions on how to make a cursed aberration mask that corrupts the body of those who wear it for too long like an actual endgame threat? The mark will likely not be destroyed until the end, since it takes a very complex process to purge the corrupted flesh its made of, and I tried making an actual item sheet for it in case the party decides to wear it for any reason (they might gain some Mindflayer abilities if they convince it, but need to nail wisdom saves to avoid going mad and dying while cursed. I'm planning a campaign where the overarching BBEG would be a nearly indestructible cursed mask that took over and twisted others who wore it and was made from part of a Great Old One's flesh, but I'm having trouble with thinking on good ways to make it seem like an actual threatening villain (the mask is by default playful, and sees essentially everyone else as inferior and incapable of being a threat, giving way for it to underestimate the party once and then become the actual serious bbeg that's going to try to destroy them near the end). ![]()
